Band 101

Band Family Dinners (formerly known as Dinner with the Director)

Once a month during the school year, the Boosters will hold a fundraiser at a local restaurant. This is also an opportunity for the families in the band to mix and mingle, create new friendships and visit with old friends.  The restaurants usually donate a percentage of the sales for the day and/or evening to the Desert Mountain Band Boosters.  Most times patrons are asked to provide a flyer in order to receive credit for the sale.  The flyers will be available in the band room and passed out to parents at the monthly Booster meeting, or after practice on Tuesday evenings during marching season.  There will also be a flyer attached to the weekly email.  Typically this has been a lucrative fundraiser for the band that requires very little effort. Good food, great friends and $$$ for the band, what a great deal!

District Fees vs. Booster Dues

SUSD District Fees - These fees are paid when your student registers for the school year (i.e. $20 - marching band fee, $20/semester - concert band fee, $20/semester - symphonic band fee, $20/semester - wind ensemble fee, $20/semester - jazz band fee, $20/semester - percussion ensemble fee).

The District fees cover costs associated with instrument repairs and replacement, some music, group competition registration fees and limited transportation (via School District buses).
